We said goodbye today to the Texas coastline and headed back to the pine trees and fresh water lakes of East Texas. We did go to Port Aransas today and I’m happy to say that the crinums are in bloom. I saw a sign that said that litter removal on one stretch of the road was sponsored by the Garden Club of Port Aransas, so I know there are some gardeners on the island.

We were in town for a wedding and of course Rebecca was helping with the flowers. I’d say they were quite beautiful! The wedding took place on a ranch near Mathis, about an hour north of Corpus Christi. There wasn’t much gardening but there were plenty of longhorns.

It was a busy weekend and we’re glad to be home.
