A few years ago I spoke to a Beaumont, Texas garden club named The Magnolia Garden Club. My talk was not long after Hurricane Rita had blown through, and they mentioned that they had lost something like almost 80% of their old trees. I might be exaggerating some, but not by much. Shade gardens had become full sun gardens, and they were working hard to change their plantings and have things looking pretty again. It’s a Hymenocallis. Probably ‘Tropical Giant’ based on the foliage and bloom time. I very much enjoyed your organization as well.
