From Atlanta to Fort Worth and to Atlanta

Thank you Katie Leslie for today’s article in the Atlanta Constitution-Journal! Heading to Ft. Worth to film a T.V. segment with Steve Huddleston at the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens and then back this evening–and then BACK to DFW for the flight to Atlanta. Busy times around the Southern Bulb farm.

Color Bursting Across the South! Busy here.

The report was true! There were some Roman hyacinths. There were also some other wonderful treasures. Later that day I visited another site closer to home and collected some jonquils and some naked lady bulbs (Lycoris squamigera). Popcorn of color is beginning on the farm.

Sol d’Or

Blooming on the farm right now is Narcissus tazetta ‘Grand Soleil d’Or’ also known as Sol d’Or.They can be a little bit stunted when grown this far north!Google has now put Thad Howard’s book “Bulbs for Warm Climates” online! Click here to read the section on this wonderful Narcissus.
